The Senior Audio Video Technician reports to the Corporate Services & Facilities department. This position is responsible for the day-to-day setup, operation, and support of audio visual equipment with a focus on video conferencing at our Corporate Headquarters. This position is responsible to ensure that all AV equipment is in place and rooms are ready for planned use as well as providing high level support to executives and client meetings. The Senior Audio Video Technician must be service-focused, self-motivated, possess strong communication skills and have the ability to complete work with minimal supervision.
Audiovisual Support and Service • The AV Specialist will provide hands-on technical support for meetings, conferences, and special events enterprise wide for Epsilon/Conversant. Performs day-to-day audio visual (AV) support functions, including scheduling, end-user coordination/training, troubleshooting and equipment installation and maintenance. • Works with project team to identify AV solutions for all Epsilon/Conversant sites worldwide. Provides PM duties for office/conference room build-outs. • Conducts media support services with a focus on video conferencing and video streaming technologies. Guiding user on their various requirements and identifying solutions to support their needs. • Provides general set up and installation of AV equipment, e.g., PCs, AV network, microphones, sound speakers, video screens, projectors, video monitors, connecting wires and cables, for meetings, presentations, and conferences. • Operates video conferencing technologies and equipment for presentations and meetings. • Works with multiple departments to ensure maximum availability of AV equipment. • Provides AV support and counsel for associates and special events. • Provides AV support for clients and administrative meetings as needed using stationary and mobile video units. • Provides in-person, remote and/or phone technical support as needed. • Performs basic PC and MAC technician duties as related to AV support. • Any other activities, requested by management, not already specified in this description.
AV Management, Planning and Research • Carries out daily checks on all equipment on site. Inspects and readies equipment/rooms for re-use. Neatly stores and secures equipment and supplies in designated areas based on department procedures. Conducts periodic testing and inventory, as necessary or assigned. • Coordinates test calls with other locations to ensure VCU equipment is working properly. • Responsible for installation oversight of new AV hardware in coordination with AV contractors/integrators and serves as liaison to AV contractors/integrators. • Coordinates, plans and arranges AV presentations for internal and external clients/vendors. • Researches and stays abreast of new AV technology and provides counsel to Facilities on equipment upgrades and capital equipment purchases. • Responsible for exceptional interaction with senior/executive leadership with confidence in major events, demonstrating ability to troubleshoot AV issues with grace and expertise. • Develop annual expense and capital budgets/forecast enterprise wide. Work directly with Facility Directors to ensure AV contracts are in place at all locations. • Any other activities, requested by management, not already specified in this description. • Special Projects • Ability to work outside normal business hours (occasional early morning hours, evening hours and some weekend). • Occasionally assists with off-campus video projects, and/or special events. Some out of town travel may also be necessary. • Must be able to operate corporate car for transportation of production and A/V equipment. A valid driver’s license is required.
Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college program or technical school • Field of Study: Communications, computer science or similar field of study or 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
3 years total experience required. Including 2 years of AV equipment needs assessment, hands-on AV setup and support (including live-streaming video and recording), and customer support. • 2 year Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator experience preferred experience • 2 year Digital signage technology experience preferred experience • 5 year PC and Mac experience preferred experience
