Classroom Technology Services at East Carolina University is seeking to add an AV Support consultant to our team of technology professionals. The successful candidate will provide classroom technology support as well as video streaming and recording network systems support. Additional duties include: supporting end user training, technology research, inventory control, and project reporting and classroom equipment upkeep. Skills in verbal and written communications, training, teamwork, negotiation, are essential to this role.
The selected candidate will also provide university-wide consulting/training faculty and staff on all aspects of classroom technology, web software, and lecture capture support. Applicants should be experienced technicians skilled in audio, video, computer, and AV control system operations. Duties of this position also include testing and evaluating new audiovisual and communications technologies for classroom or conference room use and using the information to help recommend implementation strategies at ECU.
Knowledge of Window and Apple operating systems, and TCP/IP networking is essential, as is an understanding of the basics of H.323 videoconferencing and a conceptual knowledge of A/V equipment such as that listed above. Experience in audiovisual systems and associated equipment, such as Crestron control systems, is strongly preferred. AV industry Certifications such as, InfoComm, Crestron, Bi-amp, and Extron are advantageous.
It is critical that candidates possess effective oral and written communication skills, as well as exceptional interpersonal skills.
Qualifications: Associate's degree in computer science, information technology, or related discipline and one year of experience in the information technology field related to the area of assignment; or Bachelor's degree and one year of experience in the information technology field related to the area of assignment; or Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or related discipline; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
This position is subject to the Career Banding Salary Administration Plan. If candidates are not identified at the advanced level, management may consider candidates at a lower competency level. Pay will be commensurate with applicant's competencies as well as budget, equity, and market considerations.
